By action of the 2016 General Conference the designation of Local Church Servant, was removed from the list of Lay Servant titles.

The current titles are Christ Servant Minister, Certified Lay Speaker, and Certified Lay Minister. The journey for each of these recognized titles begins with the Introduction to Christ Servant Ministry. Those who wish to take this course must be recommended by either their pastor or the Administrative Church Council/Board and register for one of the Introductory Courses that are offered on the Calendar of Events on this website.

In the ten-hour Introductory Course, the Christ Servant Minister Candidate learns about the need for servant ministries in our world and how his or her gifts can be used to be a better servant for Christ.

Following the successful completion of the Introductory Course… to be recognized as a Christ Servant Minister and be listed in the Conference Journal an individual must complete one of the ten-hour advanced courses The listing of approved Advanced Courses are listed in the Calendar of Events on this website and are updated regularly throughout the year.
